1 x 60' for BBC Three | Summer Films | Role: Producer / Director / Edit Producer
In this 60-minute documentary, filmmaker Aodh Breathnach explores the lasting psychological impact of knife violence, reflecting on his own experience of being stabbed in his 20s and following the journeys of young men who have also been affected by knife violence. Throughout the film, Aodh and the people he meets reflect on themes of trauma, emasculation, closure and forgiveness. Through discussions with others who have had similar experiences, as well as restorative justice practitioners, Aodh begins to question whether he should attempt to make contact with his perpetrator.
